ABOUT
US

Come
visit us at the Quilted Bear, located in Historic
Ladner Village since 2001.
We
are known for our friendly and helpful staff. If
you need help in choosing colors for your quilt,
stuck on a pattern or if you just want a place to
hang out, come see us! We encourage browsers. Even if
you don't quilt come on in and see the samples we have
around the store. Who knows, you might get "the
bug" too! Our classes range from the very basic for
beginners to the more challenging for seasoned quilters.
The number one ingredient in our classes is fun, and
there's always follow-up help for those who need it.
Our
current Charity that we make quilts for is the Delta
Victims Police Unit - charity really does begin at home.
In
2002 we held our first quilt walk and it's been growing
by leaps and bounds. All quilters are encouraged to show
their work. This isn't a judged show but we do have
"Viewer's Choice" ribbons which are decided on
by ballot. This year we had over 300 quilts and quilted
projects hanging in the store windows in Ladner. The
Quilt Walk is held on the 3rd weekend in August each
year.
In
2005 the Ladner
Business Association joined us to hold a combined
Quilt Walk and Classic Car show. This combined
event is the only one of it's kind on the West Coast of
North America, possibly in all of North America, and has
proven very successful. Crowds are estimated at 10,000
for the day.
We
were excited to be featured in the 10th Anniversary
Spring/Summer issue of the Quilt Sampler
Magazine! Who would have guessed our little store
located in the heart of Ladner, our "Club
House" that welcomes people from all over the
world, would be chosen! Don't worry, being
"famous" has not gone to our heads... yet! :)
